We are currently seeking an experienced Collector for a credit union located in Modesto, CA!
Type: Full-time, temporary
Pay: $24-27/hr
Schedule: Primarily Monday – Friday; includes rotating Saturdays with a weekday off provided when Saturday is worked.
Responsibilities:
- Collect delinquent accounts promptly and effectively
- Document member communications and transactions while focusing on minimizing losses
- Be knowledgeable of regulations and procedures for recommending repossession and when to initiate a foreclosure proceeding on real estate loans.
- Coordinate with repo agency, including skip tracing, vehicle recovery, and transportation
- Manage all facets of the Bankruptcy process and updates
- Handle loan extensions and negotiations
- Process member requests and assist with month-end reports
- Answer members’ inquiries and resolve members’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
- 2 years of recent collections experience preferably within a credit union or bank
- Experience collecting on auto, credit card, personal loans, HELOCs and home loans
- Experience performing auto repossessions
- Knowledge of the real estate foreclosure process
- Bankruptcy experience including laws and regulations
- Experience and understanding of collection technology programs, core systems, and other web applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Spanish a plus
