About the Role
AddsVal CPAs & Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Supervisor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who excels in client service, technical tax expertise, and team leadership. You will supervise engagements, review complex tax returns, guide staff, and deliver high-quality service to a diverse set of individual and business clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & Review- Review and prepare federal and state tax returns for:
- S-Corporations (1120S)
- Partnerships (1065)
- Individual taxpayers (1040)
- Oversee and manage multiple engagements simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Identify tax-planning opportunities and proactively advise clients.
- Research complex tax issues and prepare clear, well-supported technical memos as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Build strong, long-term relationships through exceptional communication and service.
- Understand client business operations and propose strategic tax solutions.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants.
- Review staff-prepared tax returns and provide constructive feedback.
- Support workflow planning, staff assignments, and deadline management.
- Contribute to enhancing internal processes, quality control, and firm efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with current federal and state tax laws.
- Maintain a high level of professional and ethical standards.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and educate the team as needed.
- Active California CPA license required (non-negotiable).
- 5–8 years of recent public accounting experience with a strong focus on business and individual taxation.
- Advanced expertise in 1120S, 1065, and 1040 filings.
- Strong working knowledge of tax research platforms and tax software (CCH Axcess experience a plus).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-development abilities.
- Onsite position: Must be willing to commute to the San Ramon, CA office.
