POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our business operations and procedures comply with regulatory and legal regulations, internal policies, and customer prescribed requirements and constraints.

In this position, you will perform a range of duties including reviewing and documenting company processes, reviewing and distilling customer requirements, and supporting manufacturing and engineering teams with work orders and other documentation.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with superior organizational skills, analytical skills, as well as time management skills. Above all, the ideal candidate will have a desire for precision and accuracy, and the willingness to dedicate time to check and double-check, ensuring data integrity through our system. The candidate should be an excellent team contributor, also capable of carrying out individual tasks to completion.

This role will be onsite at our Advanced Metals business in Statesville, NC.

Due to the nature of this work, this position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and documents manufacturing processes by studying customer product requirements, interviewing operators, and researching current operations.
  • Supports traceability of parts and materials and controls serialization of parts inside our Manufacturing Execution System.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by designing, modifying and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and project managers; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Take point on implementation and maintenance of a Manufacturing Execution System
  • Assures product and process quality by confirming established manufacturing processes are followed.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information to customer base by answering questions and fielding requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations and customer applied constraints.
  • Maintains product and process database by documenting procedures and steps.
  • Support process compliance with IS0 90001/AS9100D Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Support QA to ensure Supplier flow down compliance audits with prospective Clients
  • Support compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations in all actions.
  • Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues.
  • Coordinate with department managers to review cross-different departmental compliance with manufacturing policies and customer requirements.
  • Support internal controls and policies designed to ensure that customer and compliance needs are met.

Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High attention to detail, and reading comprehension to fully translate specifications, customer contracts, and internal requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive problem resolution skills and a strong sense of precise record-keeping and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 Rev D and Quality Management Systems is preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills to build positive relationships with internal and external customers and effectively present information to departmental management, employees, and outside customers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing setting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3 years or more of technical experience in relevant discipline
  • Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
  • Innovative thinker, always looking for continuous improvements.
  • Team player who works well with others, comfortable leading or following as needed.
  • Clear communicator written and oral.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional additive manufacturing, traditional manufacturing, and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as printing equipment, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
  • Some travel may be required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms (including above shoulder height and below the waist); climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch/bend, or crawl; talk or hear; and lift to [##] pounds.
