Member of Technical Staff - Fullstack

About You

You are an exceptional builder who wants outsized responsibility and impact, and have a demonstrated history of thoughtful and pragmatic decision making. You have built end to end user experiences with experience front end UIs as well as backend APIs and supporting systems. You care deeply about user experience and bringing products to life, and can collaboratively solve tough problems with minimal supervision. We should also really enjoy working together - life is too short to not genuinely be excited about your team.

Responsibilities

• Build the web server applications, spearhead our initial frontend user experiences, and create general product infrastructure for tax professionals, working directly with Aaron and Venky.
• Drive technology and architectural choices for Additive’s client and web applications that will enable us to rapidly build and iterate on user experiences that enable our customers to do their best work.
• Design and build the integration of ML inference, monitoring systems, Large Language Model (LLM) interactions, and tax-related business logic into user-facing applications.
• Build out database layers within our systems and data integration strategy with external vendor APIs and interfaces.
• Facilitate a forward-looking strategy around client-side local applications, plugins, and extensions for a variety of scenarios.
• Collaborate with the rest of the team on effective CI/CD systems that help us all move faster.
• Engage directly with accountants to understand their needs and how we can best build a product that they absolutely love.
• Be expected to operate with autonomy and judgement to deliver tremendous value while working with both technical and market constraints.
  
  

Requirements

• 5 years experience working on user-facing applications in a meaningful ownership role for what was built and why, ideally for application(s) oriented at enterprise/business users.
• Experience with ML concepts and integrating ML inference and monitoring capabilities into business applications.
• Comfortable with Python and at least one web framework (e.g. Flask, Django, FastAPI, Pyramid, Bottle), some amount of frontend web application framework experience (e.g. React, Vue, Svelte), cloud providers such as GCP/AWS, container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), and database and storage layers (e.g. Postgres, SQL, S3/GCS).
• We’re working fully in person 5 days per week in downtown San Francisco. Additive can cover relocation costs for moving to the San Francisco area.
