We are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and documentation of mechanical systems and components. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate with CAD experience, particularly SolidWorks, and a strong interest in product development, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Produce manufacturing drawings including tolerances, GD&T, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Assist with mechanical design, prototyping, and product development projects.
- Support prototype builds, design validation, and testing activities.
- Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot design issues and improve product performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and procurement.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for product improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships or co-ops acceptable).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for part modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and tolerancing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Hands-on approach to design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies for prototyping or small-batch parts.
- Basic exposure to electrical components and control systems (not expected to be an expert).
- Experience supporting prototype builds and iterative design improvements.
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing (metal 3D printing).
- Experience with machining, fabrication, or other prototyping methods.
- Exposure to PDM systems or engineering revision control.
