We are seeking an experienced Millwright III to join our mechanical contracting team. This senior-level position is responsible for the advanced installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of industrial mechanical equipment across commercial and industrial projects. The Millwright III works independently, leads lower-level millwrights, performs precision work, and ensures all tasks meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
What You’ll Do
Install, assemble, align, level, and troubleshoot pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, and rotating equipment.
Perform precision alignment using dial indicators, lasers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
Execute and supervise rigging and lifting operations, including planning lifts, inspecting rigging gear, and coordinating with crane operators.
Fabricate and install supports, guards, brackets, machine bases, platforms, and structural components.
Perform complex maintenance, rebuilds, and repairs on industrial mechanical systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, layout drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
Use portable machine tools, grinders, drill presses, mag drills, torches, and welding equipment.
Lead, mentor, and train Millwright I & II technicians.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA and jobsite safety requirements (LOTO, confined space, fall protection, hot work, rigging safety).
Assist project leadership with planning, documentation, material needs, and equipment requirements.
What You Bring
5 years of millwright or industrial mechanical experience in a commercial/industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, alignment, rigging, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and layout plans.
Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and portable machining tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Ability to lead small crews and mentor junior technicians.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of trade school, NCCER Millwright program, or apprenticeship strongly preferred.
OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
Advanced Rigging Certification preferred.
Welding certifications (SMAW/MIG/TIG) a plus.
Forklift, aerial lift, or telehandler certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
