What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Book Bike Associate position at Addison Public Library?
PT Summer/Seasonal Position
The Addison Public Library has a fun summer position where you can get outside and ride our Electric Book Bike to various neighborhood locations and events. Once at the site, you will showcase the library and sign residents up for library cards. This position is part-time, and you will work approximately 12 hours a week; the schedule and hours are flexible.
Hours:
This seasonal part-time (12 hrs. a week) position, extending from approximately May 25 – August 31. Availability for this position must include at least 2 of the following shifts:
- Tuesdays 9:00 –1:00 or 4:00 - 8:00
- Wednesdays 4:00 – 8:00
- Thursdays 4:00 - 8:00
- Fridays 9:00 - 1:00
Salary: $17.00/hr
Who You Are:
- You are comfortable working outside for several hours at a time.
- You like to ride your bicycle and can safely ride our Book Bike, a electric tricycle with a box attached to the front of it, up to six miles.
- Enjoy working with a diverse community.

Qualifications:
- A High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of our Bicycle Safety training (provided)
- The ability to ride the Book Bike six miles comfortably and safely.
