Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Agent to join our supply chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and services necessary for production and operations. This role requires strong expertise in ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400, along with a solid understanding of materials management, inventory control, and logistics. The Procurement Agent will play a key role in optimizing supply chain efficiency, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality goods to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiations.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 to process purchase orders and track inventory levels.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to maximize value and minimize costs.
- Coordinate with production planning, logistics, and merchandising teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Monitor inventory levels using inventory management systems and implement effective inventory control strategies.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and sourcing opportunities aligned with company needs.
- Oversee procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
- Support supply chain management initiatives including MRP (Material Requirements Planning), logistics optimization, and e-commerce procurement platforms.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to foster reliable sourcing channels and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or materials management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is highly preferred.
- Strong background in purchasing, negotiation, sourcing, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
- Familiarity with supply chain concepts including MRP, production planning, pricing strategies, contracts management, and merchandising.
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms related to procurement is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build supplier relationships.
