Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Longwood, FL - fully onsite
Pay: $45–$48/hour (depending on experience)
Role: Contract
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join a team and support monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for accounts such as accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, payroll liabilities, fixed assets, and leases.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting or transactional errors to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with external audits by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
- Support tax and licensing compliance through accurate reporting and required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and ERP system efficiency.
- Assist with integrating newly acquired entities into existing accounting systems and processes as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a small accounting team.
- Experience with Sage Intacct.
- Experience supporting process improvements, audits, or multi-entity accounting.
