The Payroll Analyst will work closely with HR, Finance, and external partners to maintain compliance, support audits, and deliver excellent service to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly, full-cycle payroll for 500 employees across multiple states using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
- Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll journal entries for month-end close and financial reporting.
- Manage garnishments, deductions, 403(b) contributions, PTO, and terminations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct payroll audits, reconcile payroll tax filings (W-2, 941), and respond to agency notices as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies, answer employee inquiries, and support process improvements.
- Utilize Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) to perform payroll reporting, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, and testing as required.
- 3 years of hands-on, full-cycle payroll experience with 500 employees.
- Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now required.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing and 403(b) retirement plan administration.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Familiarity with payroll audits, compliance, and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage sensitive data with confidentiality.
- Payroll system implementation or upgrade experience.
- Previous experience in an education or nonprofit environment.
