Addison Group is working with one of our hospital-based healthcare clients to identify an Emergency Department Patient Registrar to support high-volume patient access operations. This is a contract opportunity through February with the potential for extension.
This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced emergency department environment and is comfortable performing registration duties while on their feet using mobile workstations.

- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Days off vary weekly based on weekend coverage
- Initial training may take place on day shift (as early as 7:00 AM or standard 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients in a high-volume emergency department setting using mobile registration equipment
- Accurately collect and verify demographic and insurance information, including insurance cards and coverage details
- Complete patient registration and documentation within the hospital system
- Support both full and quick check-in workflows depending on patient acuity and triage needs
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff and other departments to ensure timely patient flow
- Assist with pre-registration tasks and follow-up documentation as needed
- Provide clear, professional customer service to patients and families during stressful situations
- Educate patients and families on insurance coverage basics and available resources when appropriate
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail due to the sensitive nature of patient information
- Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience in a high-volume healthcare environment
- Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of insurance types (e.g., HMO vs. PPO) and registration workflows
- Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the shift
- Experience balancing speed and accuracy in a fast-paced setting
- High school diploma or GED required (must be from an accredited institution)
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Proven reliability with references supporting attendance and punctuality
- Opportunity to gain experience in a large hospital setting
