We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee all financial and accounting operations for a high-volume commercial trucking dealership. This role blends traditional accounting leadership with dealership finance responsibilities, requiring strong technical accounting skills as well as experience supporting unit-based sales and financing activities.

This individual will be responsible for the full accounting cycle while also playing a key role in floorplan management, lender relationships, and deal-level financial analysis. The ideal candidate understands the dynamics of high-value inventory environments and can operate comfortably in both tactical execution and strategic financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end close process
• Oversee floorplan accounting, including inventory audits and interest expense tracking
• Develop and distribute KPI reporting across Sales, Service, and Parts departments
• Support year-end audits and tax preparation in coordination with external partners and corporate finance leadership
• Monitor cash flow and provide actionable financial insights to ownership and executive leadership

Dealership Finance & Sales Support

• Support F&I operations by coordinating customer financing and maintaining lender relationships
• Assist in structuring and processing commercial vehicle financing deals
• Track and validate sales commissions, deal profitability, and gross margin performance
• Ensure accuracy of all sales documentation, including titles, registrations, and warranty contracts

Compliance & Operations

• Manage state and local tax filings (including sales and use tax in applicable states)
• Maintain business licensing and ensure regulatory compliance
• Coordinate payroll and benefits administration with corporate or third-party providers
• Support internal controls and financial process improvements

Leadership & Administration

• Oversee or mentor accounting and administrative staff as needed
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and sales leadership to improve financial discipline and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of accounting experience; dealership, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar unit-based inventory environment strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes
• Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) such as Karmak, CDK, Procede, or similar
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
• Knowledge of floorplan financing and inventory accounting preferred
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders
