Job Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling trust, estate, and probate-related matters. This individual will play a key role in managing case workflows, preparing legal documentation, and supporting all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling multiple active cases simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with attorneys to draft, prepare, and file legal documents including motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Manage the discovery process, including drafting requests/responses and organizing documentation
- Prepare subpoenas and coordinate the collection of third-party records
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and monitor case progression
- Organize case files, exhibits, and supporting documentation for easy retrieval
- Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, and court personnel as needed
- Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, binders, and materials
- Attend legal proceedings (hearings, depositions, mediations, trials) to provide onsite support
- Conduct legal research and assist with drafting correspondence and case-related documentation
- Ensure compliance with court procedures, deadlines, and e-filing requirements
- Accurately track billable hours and meet firm expectations (minimum 1600 annually)
- Provide general administrative and project support to attorneys and leadership
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, with exposure to trust, estate, probate, or civil matters preferred
- Must meet California paralegal requirements (paralegal certificate, legal assistant certification, or bachelor’s degree)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software systems (e.g., document and case management tools)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
