Job Title: Enterprise Applications Architect

Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: $75.00 - $90.00 / Per Hour

Overview

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect – Applications Domain to define and guide the enterprise application architecture. This role focuses on strategically integrating applications across hybrid cloud environments (Azure & Google Cloud) and on-prem systems, ensuring enterprise-wide consistency, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and able to operate in a dynamic, fast-changing environment. They must have strategic enterprise architecture experience — not just solution-level or implementation expertise — and the ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly to senior business and IT leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise application architecture strategy, including design principles, integration frameworks, and application lifecycle standards.
• Develop enterprise-level application integration strategies, including cloud, on-prem, and vendor/SaaS solutions.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to align applications with enterprise goals and business capabilities.
• Provide strategic oversight for major application initiatives, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards, scalability, and long-term alignment.
• Collaborate with Data, Infrastructure, and Security Architects to maintain consistent enterprise architectural patterns.
• Maintain visibility into the application portfolio; identify redundancies, risks, and opportunities for modernization or simplification.
• Lead architecture documentation, maintain EA tools, and participate in architecture governance processes.
• Communicate architectural decisions in business terms to executive stakeholders.
• Support innovation and proof-of-concept initiatives involving enterprise applications and integrations.
  
  

Qualifications

• 10 years of IT experience, with substantial enterprise architecture experience in the applications domain.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-level application strategies and integrations, including experience with vendor or SaaS solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid architectures.
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, modernization, and governance.
• Exceptional stakeholder interaction skills, with the ability to translate architectural decisions into business value.
• TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification preferred.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment requiring adaptability and strategic thinking.
