Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant
Location (city, state): Mebane, NC
Compensation: $80-100k

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing finance or cost accounting role.
- Strong proficiency in SAP, Excel, and analytical tools; ability to interpret large data sets to drive actionable insights.
- Experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean, or similar continuous improvement frameworks preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to work across functions and levels.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on plant environment and wearing appropriate PPE.
Job Description:
. Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Plant Controller and site leadership team, translating operational data into actionable financial insights.
- Lead monthly close, analysis, and reporting of manufacturing performance, including cost variances, inventory valuation, and KPI results.
- Provide clear financial recommendations to support plant decision-making, cost optimization, and strategic planning.
- Act as the primary financial contact for the site, representing Finance in cross-functional meetings and operational reviews.
2. Cost Accounting & Analysis
- Own all cost accounting processes for the Mebane facility, including material, labor, and overhead analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the site’s cost models and standard cost structure to ensure alignment with corporate guidelines.
- Analyze cost drivers, identify inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions to improve margins and cost control.
- Support annual budget, standard cost updates, and rolling forecasts in coordination with the Plant Controller.
3. Inventory & Asset Management
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all inventory accounting, including reconciliations, physical counts, and obsolescence reviews.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse teams to strengthen inventory controls and improve working capital performance.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and US GAAP for inventory valuation and fixed asset accounting.
4. WCM – Cost Deployment (CD) Pillar Leadership
- Lead the Cost Deployment (CD) pillar of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, driving financial visibility into losses and opportunities.
- Quantify and track savings across all pillars (AM, PM, FI, etc.), ensuring alignment between operational initiatives and financial outcomes.
- Coach and mentor cross-functional teams on CD methodologies and financial acumen to support continuous improvement.
- Report progress on cost savings, efficiency gains, and productivity improvements to site and regional leadership.
5. Continuous Improvement & Systems Optimization
- Champion financial process improvement initiatives and automation to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting speed.
- Leverage SAP and other financial systems to strengthen plant-level cost control and transparency.
- Participate in cross-site projects to standardize costing methodologies and share best practices across the Americas network.
