Location: Hybrid work schedule near Des Plaines, IL (Onsite Tuesday–Thursday; Remote Monday & Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly close for corporate-level entities and core accounting areas (cash, debt, reserves, hedging, allocations)
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analytics
- Oversee purchase accounting and support statutory reporting requirements
- Improve close processes through better use of systems, standard procedures, and automation
- Manage and develop a small corporate accounting team
- Support internal controls testing and strengthen control processes
- Help draft and maintain company-wide accounting policies
- Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and internal policies
- Assist with financial reporting support schedules as needed
- Partner with external auditors for quarterly and year-end audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s or MBA preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 and/or large U.S. public company experience preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience a plus
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proven leadership, team-building, and project-management skills
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Curious, proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $140,000 – $150,000
- Bonus: 15% annual target
