Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet nail trimming to meet each pet’s specific needs.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their preferences, provide grooming recommendations, and discuss pet care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to uphold health standards.
- Heavy lifting of pets or equipment may be required; ensure proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming.
- Knowledge of dog handling, animal restraint, and animal care best practices.
- Background in veterinary experience, veterinary technician experience, or veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques and equine experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle animals of various sizes comfortably.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is advantageous.
