The Willows (Fletcher, NC) at Red Oak Recovery is located just outside of Asheville N.C. We provide a trauma-informed clinical addiction treatment center for young adult women. We strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment where women can focus on their recovery and begin a journey to a new chapter in their lives. Our kitchen staff provides nutritious and exciting dishes inspired by cultures from around the world. We take great pride in feeding our clients well.
Our nutrition team is an important part of our program. From making a client feel welcome with their first meal, supporting each clients’ dietary needs, to offering thoughtful holiday meals and providing classes to share the joy of cooking. We are seeking an Assistant Food Services Manager to join our team. The right candidate will be personable and dependable and must be comfortable working as part of a team. This position is responsible for the preparation of approximately 10 meals a week, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 20-85 people.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Meal preparation, breakfast, lunch and dinners – meals must be on time, accommodate special dietary needs and be in keeping with the targeted Nutritional Goals and Red Oak Recovery Food Philosophy
- Implementation and oversight of food safety standards according to the Department of Environmental Health and the SERV Safe guidelines
- Assist in managing the food and supplies inventory
- Assist in managing budget
- Work with the Head Chef to ensure Red Oak Recovery is providing top notch food service to its clients and staff
- Assist in recruiting, hiring and training all kitchen staff
- Supervise additional kitchen staff
- Development and implementation of kitchen systems that promote efficiency and support a therapeutic environment for our clients
Minimum Qualifications:
- SERV Safe certified
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food service industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in culinary field
- Able to lift 40 lbs. comfortably
- Clear communication skills
- Create a positive kitchen environment
- Prioritize the therapeutic and healing experience of our clients
