The Fire Alarm Technician is primarily responsible for testing, inspecting and servicing fire alarm systems. We value our well-being just as much as our hard work. ResponsibilitiesJob Duties & Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair various fault conditions in system wiring, including grounds, shorts, and related issuesDiagnose and repair trouble conditions traced to head-end panel components such as boards, power supplies, CPUs, amplifiers, and audio devices.Conduct acceptance testing of new and existing fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality and code compliance.Perform maintenance testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards.Install new fire alarm equipment with precision and adherence to design specifications.Deliver exceptional communication and customer service during all service interactions.Respond to after-hours emergency calls and participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to provide timely support.Read and interpret schematics, shop drawings, and manufacturer installation and operation manuals to ensure accurate troubleshooting and installation.Service and test fire alarm and life safety systems. Complete within assigned hours in a manner that reduces emergency calls and results in achieving zero callbacks. Work assignments are to be performed in a safe manner and within specified cost limits. Union Local 26.Required SkillsQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years experience as licensed fire alarm technician. Must have a valid Fire Alarm license in MD.Electrical license or NICET is preferred.Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, follow directions and meet deadlines. All applicants will undergo a comprehensive background check. Must be flexible with working hours and be willing to be part of an on-call rotation. Report to assigned job site location on time, as directed. Maintain and properly store tools, materials, and equipment.
