About the Company

Our client is creating novel technology on the bleeding edge of what is possible - developing intelligent robots (embodied AI) to help millions of people - on a very short time horizon. They are merging world-class hardware with advanced AI to enable responsive, secure, and fully autonomous operation.

This new generation of intelligent home robots designed to free people from everyday chores. The company blends world-class hardware engineering with cutting-edge AI, enabling responsive, secure, and fully autonomous operation.

Based in San Francisco and founded by visionary leaders behind several breakthrough technology ventures, the company operates with an ultra-lean, high-impact philosophy: small teams, exceptional talent, and a deep focus on bringing products to market. Their approach is pragmatic with an emphasis on solving real problems for customers, not publishing papers or chasing hype.

The team is small and exceptional, composed of engineers who thrive on autonomy, speed, and impact. There are no silos, just top performers collaborating to build technology that changes how people live. And home robots are just the start.

About the Role

This team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own the end-to-end design of power electronics and PCB systems that drive their next-generation robots. You will develop high-efficiency power architectures, including Li-ion battery systems, fuel gauging, charging circuitry, AC charger design, power converters, transient protection, load switches, and everything required to deliver clean, reliable power across the system. This role blends deep technical skill in power distribution with experience in advanced AC charging systems and battery system integration. You won’t just help build the product — you will also be the first to take one home.

The ideal candidate is sharp and quick-thinking, with a deep curiosity for how things work. They thrive in fast-paced, high-intensity environments and have a proven history of building reliable products that have shipped at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own multiple power-related PCB designs from end-to-end across their robot, including performing schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, vendor communication, bring-up and failure analysis.

  • Work cross-functionally with other engineers and designers to integrate batteries, chargers, BMS circuitry, and distribution hardware into the product.

  • Drive EMI/EMC performance, ensure system-wide resilience to back-EMF and current spikes, and thermal integrity across designs.

  • Move quickly and independently to iterate on real-world-tested power designs.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience designing and manufacturing rechargeable Li-ion battery packs and related power systems for consumer products, e-bikes, or robotics.

  • Expert at system-level power architecture and designing power distribution circuits that are robust enough to withstand real world conditions.

  • Proven ability to design high-efficiency AC-DC chargers with an understanding of various topologies and their trade-offs.

  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end PCB design for power distribution (e-fuses, high/low-side switches, current sensing, grounding strategies).

  • Experience designing Li-ion battery fuel gauges, fault protection, and balancing.

  • Strong grasp of EMI/EMC design and compliance testing for low-noise, high-density power hardware. Experience taking a product through UL or CE testing.

  • Skilled in hands-on board bring-up, validation, and debugging. Ability to write basic unit test firmware a plus.

  • Proven ability to ship consumer products at scale, experience working with CMs, and the ability to design for manufacture and test.

Logistical Requirements

  • This is an onsite role in San Francisco.
