Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Home Modifications to oversee projects nationwide that improve accessibility, safety, and comfort for individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be a licensed General Contractor with a strong background in residential construction, project management, and ADA compliance. This role requires technical expertise along with strong listening and problem-solving skills to ensure each project enhances the independence, safety and quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Knowledgeable in all phases of home modification projects, from initial assessment to completion walk-throughs.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring work is delivered on schedule and within scope.
- Provide guidance on adaptive equipment, structural changes, and design solutions.
- Supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, and vendors to maintain quality standards.
- Client Engagement
- Conduct home assessments to identify accessibility barriers and recommend modifications, including equipment ie, elevators- vertical platform lifts- ramps
- Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and case managers to design solutions tailored to the client’s needs.
- Communicate clearly with clients throughout the project, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all modifications meet ADA guidelines, local building codes, and safety standards.
- Stay current with best practices in universal design and accessibility.
- Implement safety protocols for workers and residents during construction.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage subcontractors involved in modification projects.
- Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and professionalism.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and mentorship.
Administration
- Prepare cost estimates, contracts, and progress reports.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Track project expenses and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Licensed General Contractor (preferred).
- Knowledge of accessibility and mobility equipment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction or remodeling.
- Proven track record in project management and team leadership.
- Ability to work remotely using virtual tools to monitor jobs and do assessments.
- Knowledge of ADA standards, accessibility design, and universal design principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills, knowledge of Microsoft suite and google workspace tools, BuilderTrend expereince is a plus.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including clients with disabilities, healthcare professionals, and community organizations.
