Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to promote positive behaviors and skill development as designed by BCBAs.
- Collect and record accurate behavioral data.
- Assist in skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures.
- Collaborate with clinical team members and families.
- Support learners in developing communication, social, academic, and life skills through structured teaching methods.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with team members, including supervisors and caregivers, to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies and care plans.
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, behavior management, special education, medical documentation, and relevant medical terminology.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment.
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies effectively.
- Strong data collection skills and attention to detail for tracking client progress accurately.
- Compassionate approach with excellent patience and communication skills for working with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with medical records, care plans, and documentation procedures related to behavioral health is preferred.
