About this role
Adaptiva is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in Kirkland, Washington. This is a high-impact role that will be instrumental in driving strategic financial decisions and supporting the company’s growth.
As Controller, you will lead the Finance team and oversee all aspects of accounting operations. You’ll be a hands-on leader with a strong track record in financial management, operational excellence, and team development. This role offers exposure to both corporate and project accounting, including international operations.

Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Management:
- Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain the integrity of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Oversee core accounting functions, including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, treasury, procurement, and general ledger.
- Integrate and optimize the use of CRM systems and other business applications within accounting workflows.
- Resolve complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance on emerging standards and practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support the annual budgeting process, monitor performance against budget and develop forecasts to provide accurate projections of financial performance and strategic planning.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive management reporting packages, including variance analysis and performance insights.
- Provide operational and financial metrics to the leadership team to support data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinate the preparation of periodic financial reports for executive leadership
- Manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain robust control systems to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures and documentation to enhance efficiency, transparency, and risk mitigation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices across finance function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- 7 years of professional accounting experience.
- 5 years of experience as a senior level accounting or finance manager.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial systems and internal controls.
- Proven experience with SaaS business models and ASC606 revenue recognition.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred), and integrations with CRMs (e.g. (Salesforce).
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations preferred.
- International finance experience (preferred).
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, communication and leadership skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $160,000 – $185,000. The range provided is broad and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as years of experience, skills, location, and other business needs.
