We’ve launched our iOS and Android apps on phones and tablets and are now a Top 50 Education app on both the App Store and Google Play. We’re growing our mobile team and looking for a Mobile Engineer to help scale and evolve a production app used by hundreds of thousands of learners.
This is a hands-on role focused on building features, improving performance and reliability, and owning major parts of the mobile codebase in partnership with our Lead Mobile Engineer, product managers, and designers.
As one of the early mobile hires at AdaptedMind, you will meaningfully shape how we build mobile software and raise the bar on polish, stability, and developer experience.
We are a small team with a strong bias for simplicity and ownership. You will ship frequently, take responsibility for core systems, and work directly on experiences that matter to kids and families.
- Own and build major parts of our mobile applications using React Native
- Develop shared UI and product logic in React and TypeScript
- Ship new features across iOS and Android tablets and phones
- Improve performance, reliability, testing, and CI/CD for mobile
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers
- Debug production issues and participate in on-call rotations
- Contribute to architecture and technical decisions for the mobile stack
- Support App Store and Play Store release workflows
- Raise engineering quality through code reviews and best practices
- React Native (mobile apps)
- React TypeScript (shared UI and frontend logic)
You’ll also work alongside teams using:
- Golang (backend)
- AWS (infrastructure)
- Postgres (database)

- Have shipped production mobile apps
- Are strong in React Native and modern TypeScript / React
- Care deeply about UX polish, performance, and reliability
- Enjoy working in small teams with high ownership

- Want to help scale a successful, consumer-facing mobile product
- Can work hybrid at our downtown San Francisco location at least 2 days per week.
- 3 years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful mobile exposure
- Has shipped at least one app to production on iOS and Android
- Strong experience with React Native
- Familiarity with native mobile technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Java
- Comfortable working across product, design, and backend partners
- Able to turn ideas into shipped features with minimal process
- Bonus: experience in consumer apps, games, or edtech
