At Adapta, we believe quality of life matters. The Life Enrichment Director is responsible for leading and overseeing Adapta’s life enrichment programming across all service locations. This role works closely with the Executive Director and management team to create meaningful, person-centered experiences that support the emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, occupational, and social wellbeing of residents.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead engaging recreational activities that inspire and uplift individuals.
  • Create meaningful activities tailored for individuals in crisis to promote healing and growth.
  • Facilitate trusting relationships between staff and residents, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Conduct engaging in-house classes that captivate and benefit our residents.
  • Anticipate and intervene in potential situations before they escalate, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Work as an active member of treatment teams, collaborating to enhance residents' well-being.
  • Train staff both on-the-spot and in classroom settings, sharing your expertise and insights.
  • Adapt quickly to changing circumstances—whether it’s the weather, a last-minute schedule change, or unexpected challenges.
  • Monitor program budgets and keep track of expenses and receipts.
  • See the big picture and think outside the box when planning activities.
  • Love community integration and partner with community resources to maximize impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field and 1 year of resident care experience; OR
  • Associate degree in a human services-related field and 2 years of resident care experience.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or adults age 55 .
  • Ability to model crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience implementing programming for individuals with brain injuries, mental health symptoms, and/or neurodiversity.
  • Experience planning and guiding person-centered planning principles.
  • Knowledge of area resources.
  • Experience in program innovation and development.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level that meets the performance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to meet licensing requirements of the state and county.
  • Ability to maintain good employee relations and morale.
  • Ability to think outside the box and creatively provide solutions to situations.
  • Willingness to take initiative and adapt to circumstances.
  • Ability to be productive despite frequent interruptions and problem-solving activities.
  • Ability to implement any therapeutic interventions as required.
  • Ability to accept and incorporate new methods into existing practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,329.05 - $54,589.82 per year
