Who We’re Looking For
- Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dimensional Accuracy Technician (Quality Seibi) to support critical new model launch activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving, and working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
In this role, you will proactively support new model Quality Seibi projects across manufacturing plants and tool vendors in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. You will be responsible for planning and tracking daily activities, supporting dimensional problem solving, ensuring standardized work and safety compliance, and managing measurement data and equipment.
Reporting to the Quality Seibi Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Body Production Engineering team’s objective to meet or exceed customer expectations for sheet metal body and sub-assembly dimensional accuracy.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Verify and confirm body weld equipment, tooling, pallets, parts, and assemblies to ensure quality targets and KPIs are achieved for new model launches
- Prepare, troubleshoot, and validate new tooling, equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at tool and equipment suppliers
- Support weld and tooling quality confirmation activities from installation through final handover at manufacturing facilities
- Develop detailed daily work plans, Project Task Reports, and Problem Follow Sheets; track progress and follow up on open items
- Coordinate and support safety activities, including JSAs, corrective measures, and safety audits
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and external partners regarding dimensional data, issues, and countermeasures
- Gather and manage part and assembly information from digital engineering systems and drawings
- Analyze dimensional data for parts and sub-assemblies and report findings to project leadership
- Perform dimensional confirmation using portable CMM equipment (FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, Leica, etc.), including fixture, tooling, and part fit evaluations
- Travel up to 50% to manufacturing plants and machine suppliers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with potential international travel
- Work extended hours as required, including overtime, weekends, and holidays to support project milestones
Work Schedule & Travel
- Shift: Typically Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility for overtime and weekends as needed
- Travel: Up to 50% travel or dispatch to domestic and international manufacturing sites and suppliers
- Overtime: Up to 50%, including weekends and holidays
What You Bring
- High school diploma or higher; associate’s degree or higher in a technical field preferred
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including general automotive repair and tool maintenance experience
What May Set You Apart
- Associate’s degree or higher in a technical field
- Automotive body quality or dimensional accuracy experience
- Strong ability to gather, manage, and analyze quality-related part, jig, and CMM data
- Proficiency with digital engineering and metrology tools such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, PolyWorks, AutoCAD, CMM, and PCDMIS
- Manufacturing metrology experience
