This full-time leadership role works every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and provides clinical leadership for an assigned nursing unit while supporting nursing partners and helping ensure high-quality, coordinated care for patients and residents throughout the weekend.
Position Responsibilities

NHC HealthCare Oakwood is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our Weekend Unit Manager, RN. This full-time leadership role works every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and provides clinical leadership for an assigned nursing unit while supporting nursing partners and helping ensure high-quality, coordinated care for patients and residents throughout the weekend.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight for the assigned unit during the weekend.
- Support implementation and monitoring of individualized plans of care.
- Review changes in condition and help ensure timely clinical follow-up.
- Coach, support, and provide direction to nursing partners on the unit.
- Monitor documentation, medication and treatment practices, and compliance with nursing standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, interdisciplinary team members, patients, residents, and families.
- Support staffing, workflow, quality improvement, infection prevention, and survey readiness activities.
- Assist with maintaining continuity of care and effective communication throughout the weekend.
- Promote a culture of compassionate care, teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where NHC HealthCare Oakwood is located, or a current multistate/compact license that permits practice in that state.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or nursing leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work the required Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule.
