Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level Audit/Assurance Associate to join our growing CPA firm. This role provides hands-on experience supporting audit, review, and compilation engagements for clients across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a strong foundation in public accounting while working closely with experienced team members.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements under the supervision of senior associates, managers, and partners.
- Perform assigned audit procedures, including testing account balances, transactions, and internal controls.
- Prepare and organize audit workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm and professional standards.
- Help analyze financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
- Identify discrepancies or unusual items and communicate findings to senior team members.
- Gain exposure to multiple industries and client environments while developing technical and professional skills.
- Participate in client communications as appropriate, including requesting information and clarifying documentation.
- Learn and stay informed on basic accounting principles, auditing standards, and firm methodologies.
- Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and maintain quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (or near completion).
- 0–1 year of experience in public accounting or a related accounting role preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and interest in auditing and assurance services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting or audit software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and work well in a team environment.
- Interest in pursuing CPA licensure preferred.
