Position Summary
The Machine Vision Specialist will be responsible for developing new business and supporting existing customers in the area of 2D and 3D machine vision and barcode applications. This role combines technical expertise with consultative sales to deliver off-the shelf and custom solutions that meet customer performance, quality, and budget goals.
The ideal candidate understands machine vision image formation concepts and can support customers in hardware selection and light programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth for Cognex, LMI and related components within the assigned territory.
- Work closely with existing and prospective customers, vendor partners, and territory sales team to identify opportunities and recommend performance-driven solutions.
- Provide technical support in hardware selection and programming assistance.
- Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and provide customer assistance to advance opportunities/support customer base
- Partner with internal engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Manage opportunities and customer interactions using CRM tools, maintaining accurate forecasts and sales reports.
- Collaborate with marketing and management to plan and execute strategic sales initiatives and promotions.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in automation or machine vision sales, application engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in technical sales and solution-based selling.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region (30-50%) – Florida, Puerto Rico, Alabama, and Mississippi
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Cognex machine vision portfolio of products.
- Proficiency in Cognex and/or LMI Programming environment
- Knowledge of vision system integration best practices and principles.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into engineered solutions.
