Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Technician is a key member of the clinic team responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients, supporting efficient clinic operations, coordinating patient flow, and assisting providers with delivering an outstanding rehabilitation experience.
Essential Functions:
- Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service from check-in through check-out.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations and referrals.
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate appointment updates.
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete administrative tasks.
- Prepare, clean, and sanitize treatment rooms, equipment, and common areas.
- Keep the clinic organized, stocked, and running smoothly throughout the day.
- Support the clinical team with daily operations and help create a positive patient experience.
- Perform other clinic support duties as assigned.
- Responsible for reporting improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
- Responsible for following OSHA regulations.
- Regularly interacts with PT/PTAs and other departments in order to identify and resolve problems.
- Maintains patient, employee and clinic confidentiality.
Requirements:
CPR certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting: Average weight is 5 - 25 pounds for a distance up to 4 feet, occasionally.
- Bending: Occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with shift lengths up to 10 hours.
- Normal vision (or corrected vision) and hearing.
- Ability to tolerate viewing on computer monitor for extended periods of time.
