Job Summary
The Cook position at Adams Memorial Hospital requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to prepare and serve meals maintaining high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and safety.
This role is responsible for the preparation of hot and cold menu items for patient and cafeteria meals, as well as special functions.
The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of prescribed diet information and food allergy protocols.
Main Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient meal orders
- Assemble trays
- Communicate prescribed diets
- Maintain patient Kardex system
- Perform kitchen-related tasks
- Open and close the cafeteria
- Serve customers
- Deliver meals to patients
- Receive and put away vendor orders
The Food Service Worker must proficiently complete all required documentation and abide by all sanitation and food safety standards.
Demonstrating exceptional client service is vital in this role.
Work Environment:
This position involves working around areas and equipment of abnormal temperatures and requires extensive standing.
The job also requires a full range of body motion, including but not limited to, standing, walking, sitting, hand and finger dexterity, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, etc.
Some heavy lifting is also involved.
This job requires exerting weight or force.
Requirements:
- 36 hours per week - Second Shift 5:30 am - 7:30 pm
- Every other weekend and holiday required (Weekends include Saturdays and Sundays)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Serv-Safe certification preferred
