Laboratory Technician – Cannabis Testing
ABOUT ADAMS INDEPENDENT TESTING (AIT)
Adams Independent Testing (AIT) is a family-owned cannabis and hemp laboratory built on more than 50 years of agricultural testing experience through North Dakota Grain Inspection. Since entering the hemp and cannabis space in 2020, we have focused on delivering accurate, timely, and defensible results for our clients.
AIT is growing. This year we are opening a new laboratory in Minnesota and expanding into new testing divisions, including feed testing. While this position is based in Fargo, ND, joining AIT now means becoming part of a company in an exciting phase of growth.
POSITION SUMMARY
AIT is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to support our cannabis testing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on lab work, values accuracy and cleanliness, and wants to grow their career in a regulated laboratory environment.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday
In Person
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform sample intake and chain-of-custody documentation
Conduct cannabis sampling at licensed facilities on a weekly schedule
Mondays: Traveling to Bismarck, ND, using a company vehicle, to perform sampling of cannabis products at a medical marijuana manufacturing facility
Tuesdays: Sampling at a cannabis manufacturing facility located in Fargo, ND
Weigh, grind, and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
Assist with sample preparation following SOPs
Accurately enter and maintain data in LIMS
Perform routine laboratory cleaning and maintenance as a shared team responsibility
Maintain compliance with ISO 17025 standards and state regulations
Track laboratory supplies and notify leadership when inventory is low
Support documentation, recordkeeping, and audits
Follow all laboratory safety and quality protocols
Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Willingness to learn new procedures and regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Strong time management and organizational skills
Basic math skills and comfort working with measurements
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Reliable transportation to and from the Fargo laboratory
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (3 or less infractions in last 3 years)
Ability to travel weekly, including long-distance driving
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must pass a North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check
Must be able to obtain and maintain a North Dakota Medical Marijuana Agent Card
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Prior laboratory or regulated-industry experience is a preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, or related field is a plus, but not required.
