What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Veterinary Assistant or RVT position at Adams Farm Animal Hospital P.A.?
Do you love animals and people? Can you stay cool under pressure, laugh through the chaos, and give belly rubs and injections like a pro? If so, we want YOU to be a part of our veterinary team!
Adams Farm Animal Hospital prides itself on putting patient care, good medicine, and exceptional client service first. We’re looking for a compassionate, upbeat, professional, and skilled veterinary nurse who’s ready to jump in, make a difference, and maybe even get a little fur on their scrubs along the way.
What You'll Be Doing (a.k.a. Your Superpowers)
- Providing top-notch, compassionate care to our furry (and sometimes feisty) patients
- Keeping accurate and legible medical records like a boss
- Prepping exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and being the right hand to our veterinarians
- We are currently working on becoming a Fear Free hospital. A FFCP is preferred, but we supply Fear Free training to all our employees!
- Drawing blood, giving injections (IV/SQ/IM), administering fluids, and helping with x-rays and lab work
- Chatting with pet parents, answering questions, and giving clear, caring home-care instructions
- Provide nursing care to surgical patients, assisting in surgical procedures, and working with the medical team to make sure all patients are taken care of
- Using (or learning!) Cornerstone software to keep everything running smoothly
What You Bring to the Table:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Either: Registered as a Veterinary Technician in North Carolina OR at least 3 years of on-the-job experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Great communication skills—you’re kind, clear, and confident
- Team spirit! You enjoy working closely with others and know how to stay positive
What the Job Really Looks Like:
- Lifting and moving animals (don’t worry, we team up for the big guys!)
- Being on your feet, walking, and bending throughout the day
- Helping our doctors with appointments, emergencies, and surgery
- Sometimes dealing with...well, the less glamorous side of animal care (yes, poop happens)
- Risk of exposure to bites, scratches, or contagious diseases—but we take safety seriously
Bonus Points If You:
- Have experience with Cornerstone software
- Can deliver belly rubs and behind-the-ear scritches with confidence
- Have a soft spot for pets and their humans
Ready to bring your skills, heart, and sense of humor to a team that truly loves what we do? Apply now and let’s make tails wag—together!
