What we’re looking for

Adams Employees are expected to provide friendly service to our valuable customers, ensuring that each experience reflects the commitment to providing quality products that Adams is known for. For the Nursery Christmas Tree Associate, this means assisting customers in selecting the perfect tree, wreath, or seasonal greenery, providing care tips to ensure long-lasting freshness, and safely preparing items for transport. It also means maintaining an organized and festive sales area, keeping products well-stocked and displayed, and ensuring each customer’s holiday shopping experience is cheerful, efficient, and memorable.

Your Day-to-Day

• Help customers purchase, prepare, and load Christmas trees, wreaths, and other holiday greenery.
• Load carts or vehicles for customers and ensure safe handling of products.
• Provide the best customer service by greeting shoppers, offering knowledgeable assistance, and thanking them for visiting Adams.
• Keep all areas of the nursery yard clean, organized, and fully stocked with correct signage.
• Give priority to assisting customers over other tasks to ensure prompt service.
• If assigned, operate the register and handle transactions accurately.
• If assigned, assist with holiday wreath making or receive, unload, and inspect materials from deliveries.
• Work effectively as part of a cohesive team across all areas of the nursery.

What you bring to the Farm

• Excellent customer service to all customers and their families
• Knowledge on all Christmas trees, wreaths and other products on the nursery and polyhouse sales floor
• Ability to operate Adams’ point of sale systems
• Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
• Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality
• Ability to demonstrate and set the example for Adams’ culture and values

Working Conditions

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Tie and/or secure Christmas trees or other products to customers` vehicles
• Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50-80 pounds
• Keep nursery areas clean and organized for ease of access for all customers and other employees
• Able to work in colder weather conditions and temperatures for the duration of your shift
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
• Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
• Communicate with others to exchange information

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions – including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $16.00 - $22.40. At Adams, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation.
