What Success Looks Like In This Job
To serve the public by providing accurate information regarding civil and criminal laws and administering the application process for Concealed Handgun Permit applicants.
Examples of Duties for Success
- Adhere to policy and procedures.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, answering calls; completing appropriate and required paperwork and TriTech reports; testifying in court; resolving conflicts; completing required training; communicating clearly with citizens and other law enforcement professionals; and dispensing information to those who need it.
- Acquire information and record information from citizens’ reports of criminal activity.
- Communicate by using the computer, telephone, two-way radio, and intercom system.
- Assist in monitoring the security at the front lobby and call for assistance when/if needed.
- Report to the Traffic Sergeant.
- Attend Patrol Briefings
- Provide walk-ins with assistance and direct them to the appropriate location or deputies.
- Report information to the records section for CCIC/NCIC entry.
- Staff front desk
- Take cold reports – in person, through CAD, and Online.
- Ability to write reports in the agency system, TriTech
- Notify Duty Sergeant of Emergencies.
- Perform other duties that are assigned.
- Know the Chain of Command.
Qualifications for Success
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
- Working knowledge of Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS)
- Proficiency in ILEADS preferred

- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to be assertive and self-motivated
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
