What are the responsibilities and job description for the Page Designer position at Adams Communications Co?
Big Sky Design, a pagination arm of Adams Publishing Group West, is seeking a skilled newspaper page designer who has the ability to perform quickly and bring stories alive in print.
Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a must, and a background in journalism, particularly with AP wire editing, is a bonus. We are looking for someone who can handle the design of our larger papers in addition to helping create content that can be used in all of our papers. Being versatile is required to be able to work on any of our 60 publications, and one must possess strong communication skills to converse with editors over an instant messaging system. We use a standardized APG InDesign template for all of our papers.
While we are headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, working remotely is our preferred option, as most of our designers are now operating across the country. We are no longer in an office, so being a team player is more important than ever as we are looking to expand and raise our level of quality.
Our designers are expected to work nights, holidays and sometimes weekends.
This is a full-time position with health insurance, 401K and accrued PTO.
Adams Publishing Group provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
Interested applicants should submit a resume, cover letter and at least 5 examples of page design (front pages, insiders, sports covers, special section, ETC.) to Chris Kerr (ckerr@dailychronicle.com).
