Aviation Ordnance Mechanic
Location - California, MD
Requirements:
- Perform routine ordnance maintenance functions
- Employ appropriate safety precautions, security procedures, and record keeping techniques for ordnance
- Operate and perform maintenance on armament weapons support equipment and aircraft armament systems
- Load and unload airborne weapons and stores aboard aircraft to include reconfiguration and functional testing of aircraft weapons release and control, missile, and guns systems
- Remove, maintain, service, install and load aircraft guns
- Arms and de-arms aircraft
- Perform inventory management tasks associated with airborne weapons information system AWIS web-based application
- Support and actively participates in comprehensive weapons systems, safety, and training programs
- Conduct functional checks of racks, launchers, adapters, and electric components, aircraft armament circuits and maintains them in an operational status by appropriate preventative maintenance.
- Work with other work groups as needed such as ALSS, Flight equipment, Tool Room, etc.
- Participate as an Ordnance board member
Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience in Aviation Ordnance
- Prior QASO, Team Leader, and Team Member required
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance and base access
