Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations in a government contracting environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Costpoint, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and DCAA audit compliance. This role will oversee accounting, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and project accounting within Deltek Costpoint.
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Ensure full compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal regulations.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and indirect rate proposals.
- Establish internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Generate timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Support pricing and proposal efforts by analyzing cost structures and recommending compliant pricing strategies.
- Partner with operational leadership to provide financial insight and decision support.
- Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in government contracting finance.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DCAA audit requirements.
- Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience leading successful DCAA audits and submissions.
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience supporting multiple contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M).
- Familiarity with CAS (Cost Accounting Standards).
- Experience with GSA schedules and/or IDIQ contracts.
