About Shriver Job Corps Center
The Shriver Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Advanced Computer Systems Administration, Advanced Transportation Service Worker, various Computer Sciences, Carpentry, Automotive Maintenance, Millwright Welding, Office Administration and Security & Protective Services.
Our 21-acre campus is nestled away minutes off of RTE 2, and 2A on Jackson Road in Devens MA. We service between 200 and 300 dorm students ages 16 to 24 years old at any given time with rolling admissions weekly. Our staff value the student experience and often cite the personal impact of what we do as a major factor of employment satisfaction. In addition, we have amenities that are open for staff to utilize such as a gym, basketball courts, full service cafeteria and more.
Position Summary
The Safety & Security Advisor is responsible for providing a safe and secure living and working environment for students and staff. Assists in the investigation of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences.
Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining a safe and secure Center environment
- Investigates all accidents/incidents and prepares reports and recommends corrective action
- Conducts routine safety inspections and assessments for potential safety and security hazards
- Enforces OSHA regulations and standards
- Conducts security tours and assists with monitoring and supervision of students
- Responds to emergency situations, dorm inspections, contraband search

**McNamara O’Hare Service Contract Act (SCA) workers receive premiums each paycheck to be used toward Health, Dental and Vision insurance premiums. If covered by spousal or parental insurance plan the premiums are deposited into a retirement plan
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
- Must possess valid MA driver License and meet insurability requirements
- Associated Degree preferred
