🏫 About Woodland and Job Corps Center

The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas:

  • ⚑ Electrical Wiring

  • πŸͺš Carpentry

  • πŸ— Building Construction Technology

  • 🍳 Culinary Arts

  • 🍽 Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging

We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

⏰ Position Summary

Responsible for working with the Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

  • πŸ›‘ Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures; ensures no manipulation of student data

  • πŸ‘₯ Assists with supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program

  • πŸ€ Coordinates recreation activities with CPP and Social Development, including evening programming

  • 🌐 Coordinates recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources

  • ⚠️ Ensures safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines

  • πŸ“ Documents student participation and accountability during recreation activities

  • πŸ“¦ Maintains inventory of equipment and materials; recommends purchases; performs repairs as needed

  • 🏒 Maintains appearance, condition, and organization of recreation department facilities

  • πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ“ May oversee student recreation aide program

  • πŸ•’ Produces quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner

  • πŸ“Š Maintains personal attendance, accountability, and productivity standards

  • πŸ—‚ Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet goals and deadlines

  • 🀝 Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services

  • 🧾 Accepts direction and supervision from Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments

Qualifications:

πŸŽ“ Qualifications & Experience

  • πŸ“œ High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • πŸŽ“ Associates of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth

  • πŸš— Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements

  • 🚌 CDL preferred

Physical requirements:

  • πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching

  • πŸ’ͺ Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance
