Agricultural Equipment Operator

Adam Land and Livestock
Richland, IA Temporary
POSTED ON 4/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/15/2026
We own and operate a 4,500-acre corn and soybean row crop operation, along with approximately 100 acres of alfalfa. The operation is seasonal because we only need additional help in the spring to plant our crops. We need extra help in the summer to bale hay and assist with fertilizing and spraying our crops. Then in the fall, we require assistance to bring the harvest in from the field and deliver it to elevators and our bin site. We don't need any extra help in the winter because there is no field work to be done. Job duties will include preparing fields for planting, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools, operating tractors and planters, sprayers, and other farm equipment. Employees will engage in planting, weeding, spraying, and/or harvesting activities, fertilizing, dusting, and spraying crops, spraying fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases using hand sprayers, loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. They will load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load and unload crops, and operate equipment to harvest crops. Furthermore, they will record agricultural data, drive farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, and inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
