The Role
Join a stable, industry-leading manufacturing organisation in a critical Facilities Controls Technician role, where you’ll become a key technical resource for the site’s control systems and plant operations.
This is a hands-on position with significant ownership and visibility, focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving critical manufacturing control systems.
You’ll work closely with plant and engineering teams to ensure reliable operation of key systems while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Serve as the site's technical expert for ABB DCS control systems
• Troubleshoot and maintain plant control systems to ensure reliable operation
• Support the site's Pollution Abatement (PA) control systems and related processes
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and process control issues
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and documentation
• Support system improvements, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to maintain plant performance
• Share technical knowledge and support the development of other team members
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Hands-on experience with ABB DCS Control Systems
• Manufacturing plant controls experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong safety mindset
• 5 years of hands-on manufacturing and controls experience preferred
Desirable:
• Instrumentation experience
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Exposure to Pollution Abatement systems
• Project management experience
• Leadership, mentoring, or technical training experience
