What You’ll Do:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, surgical procedures, and hospitalized patient care
- Comfortably handle and restrain small animals using low-stress techniques
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about their pet’s care
- Maintain and stock exam rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas
- Perform routine in-house lab tests and help with radiographs
- Dispense medications and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Operate and maintain medical equipment (e.g., syringe pump, EKG, scales)
- Support a clean and safe environment by following hospital protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Help educate clients on preventative care and treatment plans
Who You Are:
- You have prior experience in a veterinary setting (required)
- You're passionate about animals and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- You bring excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills
- You’re self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- You enjoy working closely with a team that supports one another
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of veterinary assistant or technician experience
- Familiarity with basic veterinary software and data entry
- Experience assisting with radiographs and lab samples
Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds. We practice low-stress handling, which may include using pre-visit medications or sedation when appropriate for procedures like nail trims or radiographs.
