Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Capital Markets Associate to join our expanding team in Troy, Michigan. This role serves as a crucial point of support for our secondary market operations, encompassing both the analytical backbone of pricing and risk management, and the operational execution of the Lock Desk. The results of your work will have a a direct business impact, maximizing profitability and mitigating risk across our diverse loan channels (Conventional, Wholesale, and Non-QM).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Execution and Rate Management

• Process, review, and execute daily interest rate lock requests, relocks, extensions, and modifications accurately and efficiently within the loan origination system.
• Act as a primary point of contact for Loan Officers, Processors, and Underwriters for all rate lock and pricing inquiries, ensuring excellent client service and clear communication of complex policy issues.
• Verify and confirm loan pricing, ensuring accurate loan-level price adjustments and fees are applied and adhere to company policies and investor guidelines.
• Maintain and update lock desk procedures and run quality control on the lock pipeline to ensure data consistency.

2. Risk Analysis and Financial Modeling

• Monitor and analyze real-time market data, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and private investor pricing, to determine optimal loan pricing and product offerings.
• Analyze the loan pipeline for interest rate risk and credit risk exposures, assisting with daily hedge reconciliations.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on secondary market activities, including gain-on-sale, profitability analysis, and loan sale performance.
• Develop and maintain basic financial models to evaluate pricing strategies, product profitability, and new business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the mortgage industry, specifically within a Lock Desk, Secondary Marketing, Capital Markets, or Financial Analysis function is preferred, but not required.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
• Familiarity with secondary market technology platforms (e.g., Optimal Blue, LOS systems) is a plus.
• Experience with SQL or other data manipulation tools is highly desirable for the analytical track.
