What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician position at Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services?
This position is a great opportunity for individuals looking to continue a career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The Registered Behavior Technician will work directly with children and families by implementing individualized ABA programs and providing hands-on behavioral support. Services may take place in clients' homes or within community settings, depending on treatment needs and goals. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with some flexibility available to accommodate personal availability. Hourly pay ranges from $22 to $28 based on experience and qualifications, and bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish may qualify for higher compensation.
In this role, the Behavior Technician will assist children in developing key skills related to communication, social interaction, and daily living routines. They will also implement evidence-based behavior intervention strategies designed to reduce behaviors that may impact safety, learning, or independence. Candidates must hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and demonstrate reliability, patience, and professionalism. A strong commitment to supporting children and families and helping clients build independence and improve quality of life is essential for success in this position.
Qualifications
To join our team as an RBT, candidates must also hold a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver's license with reliable transportation, car insurance that includes the technician on the provided policy, pass a livescan check, provide a negative TB test and demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and strong communication skills. The role further requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work effectively in a team environment. Incentive Pay Structure
- $1/hour raise after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days
- Additional $1/hour raise upon successfully earning RBT certification
Cancellation Policy
To protect staff time and earnings, we maintain a clear cancellation policy. Paid cancellations are provided for up to 2 hours of pay if a client cancels within 30 minutes or less of the scheduled start time and/or technician has already departed for the session. We also actively monitor and address excessive client cancellations to protect technician schedules and maintain consistent hours.
