We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sample Receiving Technician to join our team in our shipping and receiving department. The Sample Receiving Technician reports directly to and works with the Login Supervisor.
As a Sample Receiving Technician, you will possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, attention to detail and a desire to learn new things. The ideal candidate will experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting but is not required.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
23.40 - 26 USD per hour(Steamboat Springs)

Job Responsibilities
Ensure all incoming samples are properly received, logged, and documented according to laboratory procedures, chain-of-custody (COC) requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Inspect all incoming samples for correct labeling, identification and container integrity
- Record preliminary sample measurements upon receipt, confirming temperature, radiation, sample contents and preservatives, volumes and hold times and analytical requirements.
- Enter all sample information into LIMS accurately, generate sample labels and ensure they match LIMS entries
- Control custody and location of samples throughout their entire laboratory use life cycle
- Ensure samples are stored in designated storage areas with proper temperature controls
- Assemble sample kits for analytical testing
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate inventory needs with the team
- Learn, embrace, and adhere to ACZ's mission, core values, and quality system
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and laboratory safety protocols through training and SOP reviews
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and report any discrepancies or issues
- Maintain sample storage, department cleanliness and organization
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, or a related field preferred but not required
- Previous experience in an environmental lab or analytical chemistry role is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prioritize daily tasks to meet strict project deadlines and client needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Driven self-starter with strong work ethic
- Ability to safely handle chemicals
- Proficient in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work on your feet, lift items up to 50 pounds
