ABOUT THE ROLE
The Trade Management Specialist plays a key role in optimizing trade spend, managing promotional activities, and driving profitability. This role is responsible for analyzing trade programs, collaborating with sales and marketing teams, and ensuring effective execution of trade strategies to enhance customer relationships and revenue growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, track, and analyze trade spend budgets to maximize ROI.
Coordinate trade promotions, rebates, and discounts with sales and marketing teams.
Ensure promotional programs comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Support the development of customer-specific promotions to drive volume and profitability.
Leverage data to support sales teams in negotiation and strategic planning.
Support sales teams with trade program insights and guidance on deal structures.
Maintain strong relationships with key distributors, operators, and other stakeholders in the foodservice industry.
Identify process improvements to streamline trade management and enhance efficiency.
Assist in the development of digital tools or systems for trade spend tracking and reporting.
Perform additional duties as required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Should be skilled at verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently with little supervision, to prioritize/plan your schedule.
Able to multi-task.
Effective time-management skills.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Maintain a high level of professionalism.
2 years of experience in trade management, sales support, or finance within the foodservice, CPG, or food distribution industry.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and trade promotion management software.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, & Outlook.
Highly concentrated mental and visual alertness.
A major portion of the day is spent talking either in person or by telephone.
Frequent up/down motion to perform duties.
Moderate typing, calculating or otherwise working with fingers.
Visual acuity.
Ability to hear and receive detailed information.
