Acutronic is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Austin, TX. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Aerospace Components Division by partnering closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and the Business Unit General Manager. This position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and financial activities that ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial operations.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in an accounting or financial role with at least five years in a manufacturing environment.
Senior Staff Accountant
Your Roles/Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, multi-entity bookkeeping and general ledger accounting activities for the Aerospace Components Division across multiple business units and locations
- Post, review, and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and process customer invoicing in accordance with established policies and timelines
- Enter and maintain financial data, including journal entries, within the ERP system
- Assist with customer inquiries related to billing, payments, and account status
- Complete bank account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and support month-end close activities
- Manage accounts receivable activities and assist with customer collections efforts
- Complete a variety of accounting and administrative support tasks, including processing employee expense reports and preparing ad-hoc financial and operational reports
Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in an accounting or financial role required A minimum of five years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or related project businesses preferred
- Experience with government contracts, preferred
- Experience with project cost accounting and percentage of completion revenue recognition strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of GAAP
- Ability to understand and master complex ERP systems
