Primary Function
You would be responsible for maintaining and conducting repairs on Task Order–assigned vehicles, as well as planning and scheduling maintenance. Additionally, you would be expected to maintain reports for leadership and client communications. This position supports Department of State Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders (TO) in austere environments.

Based upon the needs of the program and Project Management discretion, qualified individuals may be required to temporarily fill an alternate position.

Primary Function
You would be responsible for maintaining and conducting repairs on Task Order–assigned vehicles, as well as planning and scheduling maintenance. Additionally, you would be expected to maintain reports for leadership and client communications. This position supports Department of State Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders (TO) in austere environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of assigned vehicles.
- Establish and implement vehicle maintenance plans.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of overseas experience in vehicle maintenance.
- Must possess Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)/factory certification for assigned equipment/systems. At a minimum must possess three (3) of the certifications listed below:
- Engine repair
- Automatic transmission/transaxle
- Manual drivetrain and axles
- Suspension and steering
- Brakes
- Electrical/electrical systems
- Engine performance
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
- Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
- Attend and successfully complete the DOS Non-Protective Security Specialist Basic. If already completed and/or served on a DOS TO within the last 3 years, will be eligible to deploy directly to TO.
- Must be approved for a Department of State Medical Clearance.
- Must be able to do the following: walk, squat, crawl, run, quickly enter/exit vehicles, maneuver around obstacles, carry heavy equipment and personnel, and operate mission‑essential issued equipment requiring dexterity.
- Must be able to operate and/or travel in vehicles on improved and unimproved roadways, as well as off‑road.
- Must be able to travel long distances in airplanes, helicopters, and road vehicles.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods with minimal breaks.
- Must possess no medical or physical impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries considered dangerous or unhealthy.
