What are the responsibilities and job description for the Back Office Medical Assistant position at Acuity Eye Group?

Medical Assistants are the ambassadors at each clinic for our patients. They provide service, answers questions, find solutions, and provide information to our patients.
- Ensure every patient has a excellent visit and experience while visiting our clinics.
- Perform patient check-in / out process; verify demographics, insurance info on route slip.
- Collect and document the patient’s chief complaint, current medications, etc.
- Verify the patient’s health history.
- Inputs documentations, insurance information in Patient Records and online systems
- Perform various test and procedures for patients
- Preform basic Visual Acuity (VA) assessment.
- Perform intraocular pressure test with a Tonopen unit.
Required:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Bilingual - Spanish
- Experience in a medical office setting and MA certification
